About Our BEAR Hunts
Our hunts run in a 6-day duration. For May 2024, we are running the season as follows:
Week 1 - May 13, 2024 - May 19, 2024
Week 2 - May 20, 2024 - May 25, 2024

This includes transport to and from the airport, food and beverage, wall tent housing, shower & outhouse facilities, and trophy care (caping and skinning).

Our remote camp provides a true wilderness experience deep in the heart of Alberta’s prime black bear habitat. You are truly in the middle of nowhere. Our camp consists of canvas wall tents, cots with thick foam, and wood stoves for heat. Excellent home-cooked meals and snacks are provided, as well as shower facilities with hot water!

The camp is powered by a generator which is highly valuable for recharging those video camera batteries. We like to keep our camp small and personalized to provide you with the attention and service you need to have a truly great hunting experience. A mobile phone is available in camp should any emergencies arise. There is decent cellphone coverage in our area, so you may bring your cell phone.
This will be a truly memorable experience. Your camera is a must! Alberta has a two bear limit, so on this hunt you can harvest two bears if you choose to. The price of your hunt includes one bear. If you choose to hunt for a second bear you can purchase the tag and the related extra guide services for $1,500.00USD plus tax; to be paid in cash at camp or prior to your arrival, most hunters prefer to harvest two bears after seeing a large target bear to harvest after hunting for a few days in our stands.
Quality photos will be taken of your trophy for your lasting memories. After photos, your bear will be skinned with care and placed in one of our freezers. You will be provided a leak-proof type container to transport your hide(s) home with you in a frozen condition.

BAITING
We bait very aggressively at all our bait sites, often with several 55-gallon drums at each site. We provide a great variety of different baits that keep the bears interested and coming back for more. We have found the best way to look over a trophy bear is at close range, our bait sites are set up for shots at about 20 yards.
All of our bait sites are strategically placed in prime black bear habitat to attract large numbers and of course large bears. It's hunting and we know that sometimes things happen even at 20 yards things can go wrong. Our guides are highly trained in tracking and recovering animals. They will make every effort to retrieve your trophy. In the event that the guide is unable to recover the animal it will be considered “tagged” and the second bear fee will be required to continue hunting (paid in cash).

getting here
You should arrive in Fort McMurray, AB early, giving yourself lots of time just in case you forgot something and need to pick items up at a store. You will be picked up in Fort McMurray at the airport by 12 pm (noon) and it's about a 1.5hr drive to the winter road parking lot, it's a scenic drive on the edge of the oil sands.
